Richard (Dick) Jonson graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Accounting in 1977. He is a non-practicing (inactive) CPA. After practicing public accounting in Seattle, he graduated with honors from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1981.

Dick spent the early years of his practice focusing on business, corporate, estate and gift tax matters. He also was involved in general litigation and tried several Superior Court cases, including prevailing on an appeal in Harstad v. Frol, 41 Wn. App. 294, 704 P.2d 638 (1985).  He is a business lawyer that works both as general counsel and assists with real estate and business transactions, LLC and corporate formations, and  estate and succession planning projects. He represents several estates, both in probate and non-probate administration. 

Dick is counsel to one of the most enduring family held motor carriers on the west coast.  A niche area of his practice is representation of numerous water utilities in western and central Washington that are both municipal special purpose districts and member owned non-profit cooperatives. He consults on supply contracts, water rights matter, public works construction contract issues and matters of general legal representation.
